Over the next 13 issues of Mbr they’ll be heading out into the wilds, documenting the Best of British Killer Rides.
Somewhere along the route at every location they’ll be burying some treasure -well OK a waterbottle stuffed with a T-shirt. But, along with that t-shirt there’ll be a codeword written on a piece of paper, and that’s the important part. Your task is to find the buried treasure, because every codeword represents a ticket entering you into the draw for our awesome grand prize.
Prize

THE HOLIDAY
One of Europe’s most spectacular and imposing mountain ranges, the Pyrenees is a veritable adventure playground, ideally suited to lovers of great scenery, wildlife, gastronomy, and of course, mountain biking! Miles of singletrack and fire roads wind their way through ancient Pyrenean forest, over lofty grassy plateaux, through gorges and alongside pristine lakes and rivers, delivering all of the thrills of the Alps, but with far fewer tourists.
2011 marks the launch of two fantastic new MTB adventures for Saddle Skedaddle in the French Pyrenees. For this competition, choose between an eclectic journey from the foothills of the Pyrenees to the Mediterranean coast, along a trail which dates back to the 11th century, and a high mountains experience along pulsating singletracks of the Ariege region.
The Cathar Trail was built by an ancient religious sect – its 200 or so kilometres following a picturesque route from the rippled foothills of the Pyrenees, across a scenery of forests, lakes and vineyards to the shores of the Mediterranean Sea. Technical at times, and requiring a good level of biking fitness, the Cathar Trail is ideal for regular riders looking for the perfect synergy of a great biking journey and the obligatory cultural and culinary experiences which France offers up in such abundance.
The French Pyrenees mountain biking tour is aimed at riders with a good level of off-road technical ability. Focussing on an off-the-beaten-track area to the south of Carcassonne and the high mountain spa town of Ax-les-Thermes, this exhilarating adventure takes us along some of the region’s best singletrack and offers some of the best mountain scenery anywhere in Europe!

This superb desert biking adventure focuses on the deep south of Morocco, a land of big skies and stark mountain ranges where mud-brick kasbahs appear to rise up out of the desert, sitting in tranquil palm oases and framed by dramatic backdrops of snowcapped mountains. We ride along Morocco’s dirt roads, taking us from Marrakech to the Tichka Pass, the highest in the High Atlas, and then southward, descending along the Draa Valley to the fringes of the Sahara Desert.
